Upload issues with Seafile app v3.x
Although in Google's Play store the app shows up as "SeafileSeadroid is the project name for Seafile's mobile app for Android devices. Since the release of Seadroid v3.x there seem to be problems with file uploads or sharing inside the app.
Especially older Android versions, such as Android 10, seem to suffer from a problem with uploads no longer working.
The uploads through the app then typically stall and never appear in the Seafile library.
Upload method changed in v3.0.15
Already a few weeks ago, v3.0.13 solved a lot of upload issues for Android users. However uploads were still not working for users with older Android devices.
The latest version of Seadroid is v3.0.15 and was released two days ago, on June 18th 2025. The change from 3.0.14 to 3.0.15 sounds like a minor change, however the upload mechanism was completely changed. According to the developer:
We re-optimized the upload module. This version uses different technologies.
After installing v3.0.15, uploads work again in older Android versions.
Manual app update
As of writing this post, the Google Play Store still shows Seafile in version 3.0.14.
However the app can be updated manually, if you don't want to wait. The Seadroid GitHub repository contains the APK (Android Package) files for each version, including the newest 3.0.15.

The APK file can be downloaded on your Android phone and installed directly from this file. You might need to enable installation from untrusted sources in your Android settings to do so.
